20-11's 1st AZ Trip

I'd like  dedicate this post to Great Grandpa Warren Cooper
and thank him for bringing his Great Granddaughter Lucy Cooper down.
Oh, yeah. And Mama Chick, too. ;)

We missed the Eggman, but had a terrific visit.
Thank God for the invention of Skype!
Lucy got such a HUGE kick out of it!!
Just imagine squeals of excitement, as you look at this picture.

Every morning, Great Gpa came over to spend QT with his Lucy.
And on Thursday, Lulu and I met up with
some of my high school friends for lunch!
Also, Lucy would like to thank Aunt Donna
for her new, fun Baby Josie doll.
Someday, she may have that much hair too!!

Lucy (and I) had fun times with
Miss Tonia,
Mia and Gpa Ron and
Auntie Rachel!

And while Lil Chick was enjoying a soak in Mia's kitchen sink,
the Eggman was up in the PNW woods
working on a new home for his bees.

Stay tuned for a future bee post.
And if that plug doesn't keep you coming back for more,
I'm not sure what will.
Later that evening, three bridesmaids and I accompanied
the bride-to-be to David's.
Lots of dresses, laughter, tears of joy
and quite possibly the MOST-FABULOUS
(can't-tell-you-the-color-in-case-the-groom-to-be-reads-this)
SHOES EVER!
All in all, another terrific night!

Then on Sunday,
Great Gpa was admitted to the hospital to have some tests run.
Before heading out with Ronnie to visit him,
the Hoffmans stopped by for a quick visit.
I got to meet their youngest son, and they were able to meet Lucy!
Then that evening, it was off too Mayberry to spend time with this crew.
My dear friend, Carrie and her family let us spend the night.
There was late-night talking,
Lulu in sleeping in a closet
(good experience/would recommend to a friend),
a head lamp (suffice it to say, it just works better)
and some of the most adorable felt flowers.
After all March IS National Craft Month
and I was in the presence of greatness.
(Carrie = the non-corrupt/much better accessorized Martha Stewart.)
That said, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to craft.
And after one final photo shoot
(which again ended with Lulu in tears,
due to this cute little noise her friend was making),
Lucy and I surprised some friends I used to teach with,
at Aprende Middle School.
Fun times. Great memories.
Being there made me miss it.
Not the grading, though.

What a huge blessing it was to be in Arizona,
especially for a not-too-hot week!
We'll be back soon.

Love you all!

Until next time ...  Mama Chick, out.

  1. Hoping there are MANY more 2011 trips to AZ! And that next time, I won't talk so much and we can craft even more! And I'll work on AEB with the noises. Promise.
