First Week Home!

After our wonderful (and I'm being 100% serious) stay in the hospital and all the nurses fighting over who was going to hold Lucy Cooper, the Eggman and I headed home with two additional passengers: Lucy and and her Mia (aka my mom)!

Since I was in the hospital so much the week before, the Eggman spent most of his paternity vacation days just hanging out with me. We weren't sure if/when the induction process was going to "take," so he didn't dare leave for fear of missing the blessed event! And of course, due to the semi-emergency c-section, I was not able to drive and discouraged from much walking up and down our stairs. Did I mention we live in a two-story home? Good times.

With that said and the Eggman returning to work, I am so grateful that my mom was able to change her travel plans to come up early!! I'm not sure what that first week at home would've looked like without her, because Lucy had I had a full week ahead of us.

We had places to go:
First up was Lucy's newborn doc visit. She did well,
but it was nice to have Mia there for support!

Then it was off to Joann's. Yep, we're startin' this Lil Chick off right!

And we people to see:
The wonderful Burns family, with Lucy

Great Grandma Cunningham, with Lucy and the Eggman

Amelia Rose, giving her new friend some love

Our good friend, Jen aka Amelia's mommy

and our good friend, Shawn, her daddy

Us with our lil ladies

On Day 7, we discovered Lucy loves "outside," though our first walk was only 7 minutes long. One minute for each day, post c-section.

The Eggman gets to carry his Lil Chick for the next 9 months :)

The cat's spot on the Eggman's lap has been taken,
but so far Sir William's okay with the new addition

Lucy attempted to help Mia sew.

 But surprise, surprise!
Mia couldn't concentrate with her Lucy around!
So, to sum up:
our Lucy Cooper is amazing and we survived our 1st week home.
PHEW! Thanks Mia!!

Thanks again Mia for coming to visit and helping out SO much! Saying goodbye is always hard, but we'll see you again very soon! Next time, let's not plan that departure so early, k? :)

Until next time, Mama Chick out.

  1. What did Mia end up making for Miss LCC? Love all the visitors! And it appears as though you even showered for them. That's super impressive!

  2. Mia made basket liners (stay tuned for nursery pics) to coordinate with an awesome quilt in LCC's room. :) And thanks, but remember appearances can be deceiving! So don't be too impressed!
