Our Fun Adventure

We are so thankful for days when the rain stays away.
Being from AZ, I honestly NEVER thought I'd utter
those seemingly-blasphemous words.
But when a 1400 square foot home has four kiddos in it,
one MUST enjoy the outdoors!

So, Lucy and the boys and I loaded up in the car
and set out for adventure!

Once we got there, we bundled the Lil Chick and started to explore!

Thankfully there was a handy-dandy sign to help us know where to go.
Because it's awfully inviting to venture off the beaten path.

(Admittedly, some of us were less excited about the sign than others.)

We found waterfalls.

Had our snack by a stream.

Held hands with our brothers
(because Mama Chick saw a photo opp)

Aren't they sweet to indulge me?!

We found some fallen trees, which made great "horses" ...

... and then we ran into a real one!

The boys were excited (from a safe distance),
but Lil Chick wasn't sure what to think.

Next we found some Indian toilet paper

and ate our lunch on the side of the path.

Lucy seems to enjoy watching others eat,
but is still uninterested
- for the most part -
to do any such thing on her own!

These are some pretty fun characters!
They definitely keep us entertained ...

... with such things as leaf-throwing

and superhero poses! :)

Well evidently not everyone's entertained by those things.
But she is pretty precious.

And just in case you live under a rock and are somehow unaware,
little boys love, love, love to climb on high things.

Exhibit A:

(and of course check for Ninja Turtles)

Exhibit B:

and finally, Exhibits C, D and E:

But then, even superhero rock stars need to take a break!

930-noon(ish).
2+ miles.
Bottom line: we ALL survived and had great fun!

And I think Lucy got the best deal of all!
Sign me up for an adult-sized stroller any day!

Let the record show, this is my first non-monthly post since Lil Chick arrived on the scene.
My goal is to do more of the former and less of the latter.

And for those of you observant ones out there,
yes, I've skipped January.
It was certainly a great month, but I've moved on and hope you can, too. :)
Super woman, I am not.
But sane is what I'm striving to remain!

Until next time ... Mama Chick, out.

  1. I think you might be Super Woman. Or at least a distant cousin. Very jealous of the snacks by the stream. Just don't post pics like that in July!! And doesn't life out of order sometimes just feel ... FANTASTIC!!!!!????
